ODETTE

Odette, the precious romantic “maiden of swan lake.” Tell us your story!

Let us observe the metaphor of transformation from the human body to an elegant swan of the evening.

My childhood dream was to become a ballerina. My parents, however, did not share my dream; unquestionably, I was their errant daughter. I was inspired by the maiden of swan lake, a ballerina morphing her long gangly limbs into an elegant, fluid body. As she moves I would imagine myself migrating through life experiencing the joys of dance.

Life pushes us in various directions. I feel grateful to explore the splendor of dance through photography.  The models are my muses. As we choreograph the dance of the model and I the photographer, to capture the emotion of the moment. Through my work I transcend my own body and enjoy the essence of dance.

As my muse graceful moves, it awakens that part of me that was not lost but transformed and flourishes in the image itself.
