HOW THE DIGITAL HAS INFORMED MY PROCESS

Studying with Dan Burkholder at Anderson Ranch unveiled a new perception about the artistry of the iPhone. The permutations of multiple applications have proven to be a valuable tool for creating a final image.

In this exploration of a plethora of apps, I can orchestrate my creations and take my muses (my models) to a contemporary realm of ethereal surrealism.

My favorite apps are; 'Distressed FX Plus' because it allows you to go bigger and better than the original distressed fx. I also use 'Touch' for editing and color correction, in addition to 'Stackables, and 'Photo Toaster' is my go-to for borders. And I particularly like 'Icolorama' for layering images to enhance the idea of layered time and storytelling. It also enhances the analog process of hand-cutting and layering of negatives, as I embrace the wabi-sabi theory of aesthetics.
