MANTOVANI'S LONELY BALLERINA

‘Lonely Ballerina’ is a visual study of the young woman’s tutu. A visual representation to the mystical legend of Mantovani’s 1954 classic melody, Lonely Ballerina. As the legend goes she was an abused and neglected young woman who found her happiness and power through her gift of dance.  

Acknowledging her story we can embrace the music that fills our hearts with joy and share with our ballerina the same euphoria that she felt while expressing herself through dance.

It gives me great pleasure to share this myth of this magical creature and the timeless music she inspired. I remember when I was in high school and my classmates were big Beatles fans and I would play classical vinyls of Mantovani.

The joy I experienced enveloped in the mystical and enchanting a world of Mantovani moved me and was mine. Even if it was not compatible with my peers, it was transporting.
