I have traveled the world in search of beauty… only to find that sometimes it is right outside my door. I am particularly entranced by the quiet magic of the winter landscape after the dark skies of a fierce blizzard give way to the radiant light of sunshine on newly fallen snow.
Spotless snow shrouds barren fields, clings to branches, and decorates fence posts, pathways and other manmade objects that disappear into nature. Camera in hand, I inhale the quiet magic, knowing it will change in seconds, affected even by my respectful presence. I feel compelled to capture image after image before they vanish. I stay until my fingers freeze…nature’s way of telling me my photo session is complete.
“The nearer we get to nature the sweeter will be our lives… and never shall we attain the secret of happiness until we identify ourselves as part of nature.”
