The Enfleurage collection takes its name from the 19th century process of creating perfume by pressing flower petals in between two glass plates coated with odorless oil to create an exquisite fragrance. The enfleurage process acts as a metaphor for my own process of layering two separate images to form a visual, photographic perfume of sensuous color, notes, and texture that evoke a fleeting memory, or dreamy feeling.
Degas’ Dream takes its name from the Impressionist painter Edgar Degas, who is known for his beautiful pastel paintings and sketches of ballerinas in practice.
